We are looking for a talented and experienced wire harness technician for a short-term contract assignment. The expected duration for this assignment will be up to six months.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform work by following drawings, specifications, test instructions, and work instructions. Following assembly procedures and documenting all work in a traveler.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and integrate high quality, high reliability wire harness and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Read, interpret, and work from drawings as well as controlled documentation and processes:
  • Cable harnesses including wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, and GD&T
  • Assembly procedures and work instructions
  • Schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and parts list
  • Perform electrical checkouts using custom setups combined with off the shelf equipment/components
  • Collaborate with engineers and test team to develop and document future processes
  • Ensure all production services are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner
  • Using associated equipment and tools including but not limited to: soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, heat guns, banding equipment, and limited use of the grinder, drill press, and like items

What You Have:

  • Experience fabricating and inspecting wire harness and cable assemblies
  • Experience in the automotive, aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, drawing notes, and assembly procedures
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity.
  • Must know how to read and use a ruler/scale/tape measure/caliper
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use G-Suite
  • A strong work ethic, an eye for quality, and high attention to detail
  • Able to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently
  • Able to work onsite in Rosamond and/or Tehachapi
