Full job description
The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is building the future of sustainable lumber with next-generation sawmill technology. We design and operate state-of-the-art modular sawmills that produce high-grade dimensional wood products with greater efficiency and less waste. Backed by leading investors including Cantos, Slow Ventures, Susa Ventures, Banter Capital, Humba Ventures, and Ravelin Capital.
We are seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Security Manager to own and operate our core technology environment across cloud systems, cybersecurity, enterprise tools, and onsite infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring our teams — from engineering to mill operations — can work securely, reliably, and efficiently across multiple locations. You will help design scalable systems while also rolling up your sleeves to support real-world deployment needs.
This role is based in the Seattle area and requires regular travel to our mill sites.
In This Role, You Will
Own and manage TLM’s cloud infrastructure, including system administration, identity management, and access controls
Lead cybersecurity efforts including threat monitoring, incident response readiness, vulnerability management, and compliance practices
Manage company IT assets across laptops, hardware, networking equipment, and operational technology systems
Oversee physical security systems such as badge access, surveillance infrastructure, and site-level security technology
Design and maintain scalable IT processes, policies, and documentation
Partner cross-functionally with teams to support technology needs across the organization
Travel regularly to Mississippi mill locations to deploy systems, support onsite infrastructure, and set up office and conference room technology
Provide in-person and remote support including troubleshooting network, hardware, and software issues
Adapt to evolving operational priorities as the company grows and expands
Who You Are
A hands-on IT specialist who enjoys both strategy and execution
Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments with evolving needs
Naturally proactive and focused on preventing issues before they occur
Able to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for non-technical teams
Comfortable working across both corporate office environments and industrial settings
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple systems simultaneously
A collaborative business partner excited to part of a team
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or enterprise IT operations
Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including identity management, endpoint protection, and network security
Experience managing enterprise IT assets and lifecycle processes
Experience with automation tools and workflow platforms such as Slack Workflows, SharePoint automations, Power BI, or similar integrations across enterprise software systems
Experience with AI-assisted tools and automation strategies that enhance business operations, reduce manual processes, and scale efficiently across a growing organization
Familiarity with networking fundamentals, hardware deployment, and IT support operations
Experience implementing or managing physical security systems is a plus
Ability to travel regularly to Mississippi and support onsite deployments
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments is strongly preferred
