The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is building the sustainable future of the lumber industry with next-generation sawmill technology. Backed by leading investors, including Cantos, Slow Ventures, Susa Ventures, Banter, Humba Ventures, and Ravelin Capital.

The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is seeking a Factory Deployment Lead to oversee the successful launch of new facilities from early planning through operational readiness. This is a field-focused role responsible for coordinating internal teams, contractors, utilities, and local partners to deliver a fully functional site on schedule.

As a Deployment Lead, you will bring structure, clarity, and momentum to fast-moving projects. You will be embedded in the field, working directly with contractors, utilities, local leaders and internal business partners. This role requires strong ownership, quick decision-making, and the ability to solve problems directly onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership

  • Lead day-to-day coordination and execution of new facility deployments.

  • Serve as the accountable owner of the project critical path, ensuring sequencing, milestones, and dependencies remain on track.

  • Maintain project schedules and keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks.

  • Monitor budgets, identify cost concerns early, and support change-order management.

  • Manage logistics including site staging, deliveries, laydown areas, and contractor access.

Field Leadership

  • Act as the onsite point of contact throughout deployment phases.

  • Build effective working relationships with contractors, utilities, inspectors, and local officials.

  • Ensure field work meets safety, quality, and performance expectations.

  • Model and reinforce TLM’s standards across all onsite activities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Production to ensure site needs are understood and met.

  • Align timelines and deliverables across teams to support smooth project execution.

  • Coordinate technical requirements and field readiness activities leading up to equipment installation.

  • Support internal handoffs throughout deployment, ensuring continuity from planning to startup.

Operational Readiness

  • Prepare the facility for commissioning and turnover to Production.

  • Organize documentation, closeout tasks, and readiness checks for final acceptance.

  • Strong communicator who works well with a wide range of partners and personalities.

  • Passionate about building factories that will rebuild America’s industrial base.

  • Organized and capable of bringing clarity to fast-changing environments.

  • Comfortable working in rural locations and spending extended periods onsite.

  • Proactive problem-solver with strong ownership and follow-through.

  • Learn quickly and adapt to new technical and operational concepts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, field operations, construction coordination, or similar roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel extensively and work onsite for extended periods.

Location & Travel
This is a field-based position requiring significant travel and extended onsite presence during active deployment phases.

Compensation
The expected annual base salary for this position starts at $120,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes comprehensive health coverage, life insurance, and flexible time off. The applicable annual base salary paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
