SoloPulse Corp is a dual-use radar company committed to the relentless exploration of the frontiers of radar sensing technology. Located in Atlanta, GA, SoloPulse stands as a venture-backed startup, diligently cultivating strategic collaborations to proactively address critical safety imperatives and emerging autonomy needs across both civilian and military domains. Our distinguished team encompasses accomplished engineers, seasoned advisors, and experienced startup veterans, collectively driven by an overarching mission to change the way the world sees.
SoloPulse is hiring a Product Software/Embedded Engineer to build and ship robust software for vertically integrated units. You'll own the reliability, observability, infrastructure implementation, and fault tolerance that determine how deployed units perform over time, with a focus on low-latency execution on real hardware. You'll have real ownership of your work, the problems are challenging, and your teammates hold themselves to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Designing and bringing up complete hardware/software systems involving radar, RF sensors, SDRs, embedded computers, GPUs, networking, and other specialized hardware
- Developing the software interfaces required to communicate with new sensors and hardware, including drivers, device interfaces, acquisition software, configuration, synchronization, and health monitoring
- Taking unfamiliar hardware from initial bring-up through reliable data streaming into a custom software system
- Working directly with hardware during development, including reading schematics and datasheets, debugging interfaces, using lab equipment, modifying cables or connectors, and performing basic electronics rework or soldering when necessary
- Designing and implementing high-throughput, low-latency data paths between sensors, embedded processors, GPUs, and downstream systems
- Integrating multiple sensors and hardware subsystems into complete real-time systems, including managing timing, synchronization, interfaces, and data flow
- Developing software for custom interfaces and experimental hardware configurations when existing vendor interfaces are insufficient
- Working with RF and digital hardware engineers to understand signal chains, interfaces, hardware limitations, and system-level tradeoffs
- Developing tools and test infrastructure for hardware bring-up, data collection, system validation, and automated testing
- Developing practical diagnostics, logging, telemetry, and health monitoring needed to understand system behavior during development and field testing
- Rapidly prototyping hardware/software architectures to determine whether new sensors, interfaces, or system concepts are technically viable
Key Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience building and integrating complex hardware/software systems
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system architecture, concurrency, memory management, networking, debugging, testing, and maintainable interfaces
- Demonstrated experience developing low-latency, deterministic, real-time systems
- Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware, sensors, embedded computers, or specialized devices
- Strong understanding of data acquisition, buffering, synchronization, timing, and high-throughput data movement
- Ability to read and reason about hardware documentation, including datasheets, interface specifications, and PCB schematics
- Comfortable debugging systems across multiple abstraction layers, from physical connections and electrical interfaces through drivers, operating systems, and application software
- Hands-on engineering mindset and willingness to work directly with hardware, lab equipment, cables, connectors, and prototype electronics when necessary
- Ability to take an unfamiliar piece of hardware and determine how to make it communicate reliably with the rest of the system
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance; U.S. person required
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Radar, RF, SDR, or digital communications experience
- Experience developing device drivers or hardware abstraction layers
- Experience with PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, CAN, or other hardware interfaces
- Experience with FPGA-based sensors or systems
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson or other embedded GPU platforms
- Experience with high-bandwidth sensor integration, including radar, RF, INS, GNSS, cameras, or other sensors
- RF systems literacy, including familiarity with antennas, signal chains, link budgets, and RF integration tradeoffs
- Experience with hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or other laboratory equipment
- Experience with networking, high-throughput streaming, DMA, shared memory, or zero-copy data paths
- Basic electronics prototyping, soldering, cable fabrication, or PCB-level debugging experience
