About The Role

As the Senior Software Engineer, Device Automation within the Device Automation, Build, and Quality Team, you will collaborate with design, development, and other test-oriented teams to plan, design, build, and execute automated tests and tools to ensure the quality of the user-facing functionality of our AI Pin. In this senior role, you will play a key part in leading and shaping our automated testing strategy.

What You Might Do

  • Develop and oversee automated testing systems and approaches for user experience and services
  • Leverage AI tools like OpenAI API to evaluate both determinist and not deterministic testing
  • Write automated tests to help ensure quality of the above and to set an example for writing automated tests that other engineers will use as templates for their tests
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the System Software Automation and Test team to ensure alignment and integrations of approaches
  • Possess a foundational understanding of the code powering user experience and services to effectively interpret system logs during testing

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience working with OSx and Linux
  • Experience in developing tools for test automation and writing test cases
  • Demonstrated success as a self-directed technical lead
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Python or other object oriented programming languages

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automated testing of native Android
  • Experience working with Android Studio and/or Android Debug Bus (ADB)
  • Experience in designing and implementing build/release/test systems
  • Proficiency in managing cross-functional relationships
  • Knowledge of one or more continuous integration pipeline software products such as Jenkins, Github Actions, CircleCI, etc.

  • The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills
