A proactive mindset and a keen eye for identifying risks, opportunities, and efficiencies will be essential to supporting the company’s growth and long-term success.
The Client anticipates this will be 30-40 hrs/week with the potential for conversion from consultant to full-time employee depending on fit and if mutual interest is established.

- Financial Insight & Resource Optimization: Analyzes financial and operational data to identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for efficiency, helping to optimize capital allocation across programs and functions.
- Executive Reporting & Financial Storytelling: Prepares clear, concise financial updates and materials for executive leadership and the Board, translating complex data into actionable insights and a cohesive narrative around performance and outlook.
- AI Integration & Enablement: Identifies opportunities to incorporate AI-driven tools and analytics into financial planning, enhancing decision-making and improving insights.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; CPA or advanced degree (Master’s, MBA) in a business/finance field is highly valued
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles within the biotech industry
- Proven track record supporting early- to mid-stage companies, with exposure to dynamic budgeting, cash runway management, and evolving business models

- Experience overseeing core accounting functions, including GAAP compliance, leading external audits, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact efficiently with Board Members.
- Willingness to support accounting and AP activities alongside 2 existing team members (AP specialist and controller)
- Client has a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) platform in beta testing. Consultant will be involved with this product. Ideal candidates will have some experience with D2C.
