People & HR, Operations
El Segundo, CA, USA
Posted on Sep 26, 2025
At Arbor, we’re creating technology to power our lives while protecting the planet that sustains them. Our advanced power systems deliver clean, reliable baseload electricity with zero operating emissions—modular, fuel-flexible, and engineered for the realities of today’s energy demand. At the core is a supercritical CO₂ turbine with integrated carbon capture, designed to bring carbon-neutral power online quickly at meaningful scale.
Our team includes aerospace engineers, combustion experts, and systems thinkers with a shared goal: to build technology worthy of the world we want to live in. While many of us began our journeys looking to the stars, we’re applying that expertise here at home to deliver dependable, emission-free baseload power and a future of lasting abundance.
If you’re drawn to rigorous work with lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you. Come build what the future will run on.
We are seeking a Chief of Staff to partner closely with our CEO and executive leadership team. This is a high-impact, strategic role designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a proven ability to drive clarity, alignment, and execution across an organization.
The Chief of Staff will work closely with the CEO and maintain a dotted-line relationship with the COO, ensuring Arbor’s top priorities are well-defined, resourced, and delivered. This role manages the company’s operating cadence, drives communication from the executive team to the broader organization, and ensures leadership focus is consistently directed toward the initiatives that matter most. The Chief of Staff will also lead investor and board communications, as well as shape the narrative for company-wide milestones such as fundraising, product achievements, and other high-visibility activities.
This is an onsite role in El Segundo.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO (with a dotted line to COO) to drive strategic planning cycles, ensuring priorities are well-defined, communicated, and executed.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear operating plans and track progress against key results.
  • Drive executive-level communications to the broader organization, including weekly CEO updates, all-hands narratives, and change-management updates.
  • Lead investor and board communications: develop board decks and support fundraising diligence.
  • Communicate high-visibility company activities (fundraising, product milestones, organizational changes, customer wins) to the organization with clarity, context, and alignment.
  • Ensure cross-team visibility through concise status updates, risk registers, and dashboards that inform action.
  • Act as a connector across teams, ensuring alignment between leadership and functional leads, and proactively removing roadblocks.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support informed decision-making and long-term planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or strategy/operations roles at a high-growth company (ideally a strong background spanning both analytical and operating roles).
  • Experience supporting investor relations, fundraising, or board management.
  • Proven ability to drive complex projects from ideation through execution.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, sound judgment, and ability to operate with discretion.
  • Familiarity with hardware, renewable energy, or deep-tech environments.
