Senior/Staff Engineer, Application
Glyphic Biotechnologies
About Glyphic:
At Glyphic Biotechnologies, we plan to create the protein revolution for which scientists and researchers have been waiting. We are developing a massively parallel, single-molecule proteome sequencing platform that will transform life science discovery and usher in a new era of insights into human biology and disease. To date, we have raised >$50M from venture partners and non-dilutive grant funding to achieve our vision of next generation proteome sequencing.
What we are looking for in you:
Glyphic is seeking an experienced applications engineer to translate our cutting-edge single molecule proteome sequencing protocols to automated instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing complex assays on the Hamilton Star liquid handling platform for DNA & protein biochemistry and/or NGS applications. The engineer will work with a cross-disciplinary team of chemists, biologists, engineers, and bio-informaticians to deploy robust production processes across a range of laboratory automation and custom microfluidic instruments.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, deploy, and rapidly improve automated protein sequencing solutions in a fast-paced startup environment.
Evaluate new instrumentation fit for purpose and integrate new automated capabilities into existing platform
Partner with R&D to translate existing benchtop protocols and new protocol concepts across multiple platforms to demonstrate feasibility
Define standardized liquid handler programming schema for rapid protocol, labware, and liquid class reusability
Utilize scheduling software to integrate multiple instruments and optimize automated protocols for throughput
Analyze complex experimental data, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to guide further development.
Maintain expertise on alternate methods, techniques and best practices used in the field; routinely benchmark process performance
